Transformative Couple Therapy (TCT)
TCT helps therapists evoke and amplify the power of the felt experience of love in the couples they treat.
This method mobilizes couple members to shift patterns of insecurity and develop a more durable secure base.
Forging a pathway from fear to love and from survival to thriving is an expression of the indwelling biological drive to love and be loved.” ( Mars 2011).
Multi-Channel Webinar Series:
Seven Channels of Experience
with David Mars Ph.D.
8 monthly sessions from January 16th
This is a enthusiastic reminder to invite you to join us all for the next Webinar series: 1/16/20, 2/13, 3/12, 4/9, 5/7, 6/4, 7/2 and 7/30/20 from 8 AM PST to 10 AM PST.
I am excited to announce this new Multi-Channel Webinar Series. Whether you focus on couples or individuals, I invite you to participate in this series as a monthly tune-up to keep honing your capacity for somatic tracking and powerful affect regulation.
This new series of eight two-hour sessions on Zoom is focused on how to expand your use of Channels of Experience to access your internal guidance as a therapist and to facilitate more transformational outcomes in treatment.
During each two-hour session I will present a compelling subtitled training video of a couple or individual with a teaching piece on Power Point. This new Webinar series is directed to expanding therapists’ capacity to open their perception, reception and expression of somatic awareness with couples or clients who are blocked in experiencing their bodies. After each webinar, I will send out video recordings of our discussion, didactic teaching segments and the the Channels Meditation, in addition to the PowerPoint slides.
The video clips I share will feature clients with a combination of:
1.) Defensive exclusion of emotion other than anger or irritation,
2.) Highly sensitive triggers to dorsal vagal dissociation and/or hot and cold reactivity.
3.) Those with unresolved trauma that has been extremely difficult to treat due to the above patterns.
We will begin each session with a ten-minute Channels of Experience Meditation followed by a short check-in to connect with our bodies and briefly with each other.
The experience of these lively interactive international webinars is intimately connected and connecting to self and other. We develop a secure base through using Process Language and speaking in the present tense while accessing Channels of Experience. This use of conscious embodied speaking also provides a transfer of learning from our sessions into your clinical practice and your daily life. The fee for the eight-session series is $480 by Credit/Debit card or PayPal. (16 CE are available)
Movement Channel Webinar Series:
Creating Unlikely Transformative Outcomes
with David Mars Ph.D.
8 monthly sessions from February 28th
The dates are: Thursdays from 8 AM PDT to 10 AM PT on 2/27/20, 3/26/20, 4/23/20, 5/21/20, 6/18/20, 7/16/20, 8/13/20, 9/10/20
At the World Conference on Movement and Cognition at Harvard Medical School in July of 2018, I presented a first-time workshop called "Micro-movement, Gesture and Body Cues that Accelerate Individual and Couple Psychotherapy Treatment". This Movement Channel Webinar series emerges from that catalytic workshop experience.
In this video conversation with Serge Prengel, David Mars Ph.D. gives us an experiential sense of this model of Transformational Couple Treatment.
"Because of AEDP and AEDP for Couples, the way that I work has been deeply transformed. My couples are experiencing healing in a more accelerated way along with a more grounded felt sense between them of feeling more deeply connected and in love with each other. Love indeed does feel good!” ∼ Tami Chelew, LMFT
